When work began to redevelop the site of the former Belleview Biltmore Hotel, it had long since fallen into disrepair after years of neglect. But JMC Communities committed to a plan that would restore the hotel to its former glory and leverage its timeless style as design inspiration for several new residential buildings.
Located near the relocated and renovated hotel, The Carriage Homes at Belleview Place offer a true reflection of the site’s history. Architect Ed Binkley with BSB Design said, “The classic coastal style of the buildings is based on key elements of the original hotel, a design thread including strong gable roofs, bracketing and details. Elevations respect the original without simply replicating it.”
Belleview Place caters to active adult buyers who seek a resort lifestyle, and the adjacent golf course and community connectivity are a huge draw. So are the upscale finishes and floor plans in The Carriage Homes, which feature optional elevators, dual suites and private outdoor living on both floors to capitalize on Gulf and golf course views. Open zoning epitomizes the Florida lifestyle, with well-defined spaces that remain visually connected. These buyers love to entertain, so floor plans had to live comfortably for a couple but also work well for larger groups.
The Carriage Homes are a fitting tribute to the hotel that informed their design and the buyers who’ve earned the chance to be rewarded. Both were well worth the wait. ■
