Tone Software Corporation develops and supports z/OS software solutions that increase mainframe efficiency, reduce operational costs, and increase z/OS user productivity.
Based in Anaheim, California, TONE is a privately-owned company that answers to customers, not shareholders. Leveraging over 40 years of mainframe expertise, TONE participates in IBM PartnerWorld, the ISV Early Test Program, SHARE, and many industry organizations.
TONE products are marketed and supported throughout North America, Europe, and Australia through the Anaheim headquarters and regional agents. Technologies include:
• DYNA-STEP dynamic STEPLIB allocation and ISPF library management.
• OMC-FLASH JES2 and JES3 Spool management to control the JES2 and JES3 spool, operations and resources.
• OMC-PRINT and OMC-TCP/IP to control and route host output to VTAM and TCP/ IP printers.
• STEPLIB-Rx dynamic STEPLIB to replace shareware and unsupported tools.
• ACC and SyBridge to automate z/OS processes and manage console traffic.
• TRX to reduce TSO system overhead and improve response times.
With a strong commitment to delivering quality software and exceptional service, Tone provides innovative technologies that enhance the success of mainframe organizations.
DYNA-STEP Dynamic STEPLIB Solution
DYNA-STEP dynamic STEPLIB allocation reduces TSO overhead, system I/O, and contention on STEPLIB volumes. Under both TSO and ISPF, DYNA-STEP provides efficient, direct access to multiple STEPLIBs, product versions, ISPF libraries and DB2 subsystems to expedite z/OS application development, upgrades, and system testing.
With DYNA-STEP, allocation of STEPLIB datasets is removed from LOGON procedures. The results include more efficient LOGON PROCs and less maintenance, reduced user LOGON time, reduced library search time and elimination of repetitive LOGONs to switch between test and production. Using DYNASTEP, z/OS shops can increase system and user productivity and save system resources.
DYNA-STEP transparently replaces CA TSOPLUS, shareware, and other unsupported STEPLIB utilities. Straightforward migration aids eliminate manual re-implementations and conversions.
DYNA-STEP is fully supported on all z/OS levels and available in many licensing models.
OMC-FLASH JES2 and JES3 Spool Management
OMC-FLASH manages JES2 and JES3 spool operations, enabling users to view and control JES2 and JES3 jobs, output, devices, resources, workflows, and the JES SYSPLEX.
Users can view and control batch jobs, started tasks, TSO users, APPC jobs, active tasks, held and non-held output across the input, execution, and output queues. Jobs and output can be managed through comprehensive browse, cut & paste, sort, find, print, copy to disk dataset, hold, re-queue, and delete.
Customization options enable users to set criteria for job selection, panel layout, highlighting, columns and data to display. Capabilities include:
• JES3 Spool Volume Display
• PROCLIB Display
• REXX API
• COPY History Facility
• CONFIG Facility to customize displays
• OPERLOG Viewing Facility
• JES3 Control Block Viewing Facility
• JES3 WLM Scheduling & Resource Display
• Active and Historical SYSLOG Display
• Dynamic CPU Utilization Display
• JES Initiator Display
• Printer Status Display
• JES3 DJC NET Display
• Display Console Facility for operator’s console
• USS Status Display OMC-FLASH is z/OS certified, SMP/E installable and available in many licensing models.
OMC-PRINT, OMC-TCP/IP, and OMC-VNI
The OMC output management solutions route spooled output to local and remote VTAM and TCP/IP print devices, enabling users to deliver and print host output at cost-effective servers, queues, and printers throughout the network.
