As MDC positions itself as Miami’s premier AI training hub, the College inaugurated two new state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) Centers at the North and Wolfson Campuses. Poised to serve as an epicenter for preparing our future AI workforce, the new cutting-edge facilities are living labs where people can learn, teach, collaborate, and realize AI’s potential and impact on our world.

Most recently, MDC’s School of Engineering and Technology received approval from the Florida Department of Education to introduce three pioneering college-level programs in AI. These programs, set to launch in the fall of 2023, are the first of their kind in the state of Florida and will build upon MDC’s goal to provide a Bachelor of Science in Applied AI through a stackable credential pathway. The new approved programs include a College Credit Certificate (CCC) in Artificial Intelligence Awareness, a College Credit Certificate (CCC) in Artificial Intelligence Practitioner, and an Associate in Science in Applied Artificial Intelligence, one of the first AI associate degrees in the nation, which will provide students with an understanding of AI’s lifecycle management and the ethical considerations relevant to its design and implementation.
