How did you benefit from attending Part One of the Municipal Leadership Academy?
“The resources tab is definitely my “go-to” for referencing quick answers about City Government and Iowa Code. Also enjoy reading Cityscape Magazine! There are three particular factors one can always gain insight and benefit from at your MLA workshops. The main and most important by far is being in a room filled with others who have taken it upon themselves to do what I call my “civic duty” and create an atmosphere of wanting to hear, see and learn the proven methods of leading and serving your city and its residents as best as you possibly can, armed with the most powerful instrument of all: knowledge.
The second one is taking that knowledge back home and applying it to the discussions and decisions expressed at our local city council meetings.
The third and most memorable for me personally is WE GOT TO EAT FOOD! GOOD FOOD! GREAT FOOD!”
