Join the Iowa League of Cities on March 4 for Local Leaders Day. Connect with lawmakers, discuss shared priorities, and advocate for Iowa’s cities at the Capitol.
IMFOA Spring Conference
Attend the IMFOA Spring Conference April 15-17 in Des Moines for networking, education, vendor exhibits, and certification credit opportunities.
Reminder from IEDA
Under Iowa Code Section 368.4, cities must file annexation moratorium agreements — or resolutions extending them — with the City Development Board within 10 days of enactment. Timely filing ensures formal recognition and requires the Board to dismiss conflicting annexation petitions.
Open Meetings and Open Records Training
The League offers free virtual training to help newly elected and appointed officials meet open meetings and open records requirements. March sessions are scheduled, with more added monthly.
