Miami Dade College’s Benjamin León School of Nursing has partnered with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital to offer students the Nurse Scholars program, which provides up to $10,000 to cover tuition, books, and fees. The program offers four semesters of didactic and clinical experiences and provides employment opportunities for nurse scholars to gain insight into pediatric nursing at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Ten participants will be accepted each spring and fall semester.
The College has also revived the Licensed Practical Nurse program (LPN) and now offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) online. The online program is designed for working students who need to schedule school around their work. MDC also offers a Registered Nurse (RN)-to-BSN program that has been ranked among the nation’s top ten most affordable. Graduates benefit from guaranteed job placement thanks to partnerships the school has forged with local hospitals.
