Cross-Dressers, Drunks, and Fools
SHAKESPEARE'S COMEDIES PROVIDED great material for a compilation of scenes that loosely came together as Cross- Dressers, Drunks, and Fools, staged by the Department of Theatre and Dance in early October. Drama professor Dale Daigle says he "cherry-picked all the scenes that I loved" from plays including The Tempest, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Romeo and Juliet. Daigle says that this show was solid preparation for his co-director Maggie Campbell '17, who will stage a Comedia Del Arte piece as her senior thesis next semester. "All of these Shakespeare scenes are Comedia-inspired–broad comic stuff that provides a nice balance to Shakespeare's dramas." The department will stage MacBeth in December.
