Miami Dade College has partnered with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Century 21 Real Estate to enrich the Empowering Latinas Program, an initiative that helps entrepreneurial Latina women in South Florida earn a real estate license. The initiative starts with the 2017 Empowering Latinas kickoff event in November at MDC, Wolfson Campus. The program’s first cohort, which will begin in January 2018, will prepare up to 100 women to become licensed real estate professionals. MDC will offer follow-up support for the initiative by hosting an informational and motivational event, as well as two study sessions and a graduation ceremony in February. Those who obtain their real estate license will have the opportunity to join a Century 21 Real Estate franchise. “At MDC, we believe that opportunity changes everything. We are thrilled to partner with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation to expand opportunities for Latinas in the real estate industry,” said María Carla Chicuén, special projects assistant to MDC President Eduardo J. Padrón.
