Miami Dade College alumnus Javier Font is an architect with more than 30 years of architectural design and project management experience. He is a co-founder and principal of Behar, Font & Partners. Font worked for his father Miguel Font, an architect, through high school and college and became interested in all facets of the real estate development industry. In 1992 he co-founded Behar, Font & Partners. Over the past 25 years, the firm has grown to work with clients on multiple projects. A few signature buildings include: Aventura Optima, a 13story LEED platinum office building in Aventura, Florida; Aloft / Element Hotel, a 285room hotel complex in Doral, Florida; Merrick View, an eight-story mixed-used project incorporating retail, showroom and office space in Coral Gables, Florida; and Nine “9,” a 35story, 391unit residential project at Mary Brickell Village in Miami. “Miami Dade College was a perfect fit for me at the time,” Font said. “It had wonderful teachers and great design and architecture classes. I enjoyed my time at the College.”
