Miami Dade College’s Eig- Watson School of Aviation at Homestead Campus has been recognized as one of the nation’s top aviation educational training centers with the Glenn Curtiss Award from the Greater Miami Aviation Association (GMAA). The award is given to premier institutes that advance the air transport, business and private sectors in the Americas and South Florida. MDC’s School of Aviation was recognized for its innovation, customer support and product quality. “We are so proud of the College’s innovative aviation education legacy,” said MDC’s President Dr. Eduardo J. Padrón. Pioneering aviation education, the Eig-Watson School of Aviation has served South Florida since 1961. The school recently expanded its degree and FAA-approved course offerings to include the multi-dimensional field of transportation and logistics, helping students succeed by building skills they can apply in their aviation careers. Other offerings include professional pilot technology, aviation maintenance management and air traffic control.
