Diversity fosters a vibrant community and the student body at Miami Dade College serves as a model for that belief, according to the U.S. Department of Education, which recently named the College as one of the top institutions for Hispanics in the United States. Building on that honor, the August edition of Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine – the only higher education magazine in the nation for Hispanic students – featured MDC in its list, “The Top 100 Colleges and Universities for Hispanics.” MDC earned the number one spot for Hispanic student enrollment, with Hispanics making up 65 percent of the student population. The everevolving pathways to obtain a degree have strengthened MDC’s inclusive and driven community. With eight campuses and more than 300 academic pathways, MDC has a wide range of educational opportunities to appeal to students of varied interests. MDC proudly graduates more Hispanic students than any other college in the nation. The College will continue to support Hispanic students in their academic endeavors and celebrate their heritage with cultural programs held throughout the year. – RS
