Miami Dade College, North Campus joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and FBI Miami Citizens Academy Alumni Association to host the FBI Youth Academy, a summer camp that introduces high school students to the inner-workings of the FBI and potential careers in law enforcement. The five-day program included a mix of classroom, laboratory, outdoor and field trip activities, concluding with a graduation ceremony at the end of the week. High school juniors and seniors participated in a unique educational experience that included an FBI bomb demonstration, where students learned how the agency responds to suspicious packages and investigates bomb threats. Additionally, the students assisted with a blast demonstration. The Miami-Dade Police Department Marine Patrol/Underwater Recovery Unit was also on hand to show students how they look for evidence and people lost in the water.
