Page 10 is no secret that the last couple of elections for the Foundation Board have generated few candidates willing to put their name forward. In an effort to dis-sect this perplexing prob-lem, I recently sat down with Beverly Feagin, the retired Vice Chair of the Elections Committee. The deadline for filing a Candidate Information Form for eligibility to run in the 2017 Foundation Board Election is Tuesday, Janu-ary 3, by 5 p.m. There are three vacancies to be filled in this election. If you are interested in running for the Board, you must com-plete the 2017 Candidate Information Form found at by going to the “Members” menu and clicking on “E-Forms.” > RENAISSANCE ACAD-EMY IN PELICAN BAY WANTED: A FEW GOOD MEN AND WOMEN! Notice of Foundation Annual Meeting in March or by proxy, to hold a valid Member meeting. In order to ensure the Member meeting can be conducted, you will receive a proxy with your 2017 ballot mailing. The proxy will alow you to name the Foundation secretary, or another person who will be at the meeting, to represent you at the meeting. The proxy will be used for purposes of establishing a quorum. Pelican Bay will continue to be a premier community only if qualified people are willing to invest their time and unique talents in ser-vice to the community. It Through a unique partnership with FGCU's Renaissance Academy, lifelong lectures and programs will be offered exclusively to Pelican Bay residents at the Pelican Bay Community Center beginning in January.
