Kansas City Barbeque Society – America’s Barbeque Experts!® AUGUST 2016 JUDGES SCORECARD HAS ARRIVED! Postmaster: Dated Material. Please deliver by August 10, 2016 The Monthly Publication of the Kansas City Barbeque Society KCBS is proud to announce the availability of the Judge’s Scorecard! It will be a member-only option, so you’ll need your login and password to see your data on contests judged. Past contest data will ONLY be available to the CBJ member who logs in. It is tied to your KCBS member number. The link will be under the Judges tab on the home page. If you’re not logged in, the login page will appear for you to enter your id and password. Then the screen “My Judge Scores” will pop up and you’ll see contests you’ve judged listed by year, date and contest name. To go directly to the Judge Scorecard, enter http://www.kcbs.us/judge-scores. When you select a contest that you judged, a breakdown appears of your scores at that event. Brisket will be first. You see the scores you gave for an entry (they aren’t in any particular order!), your score total with the weighting applied and the last column is the average score of all the judges that were sitting at your table. After Brisket is Chicken followed by Pork and lastly Pork Ribs. It’s alphabetical, not in contest order! The best thing about this is it is Objective! It does not replace discussion among judges at the table after each category. It's invaluable for judges to discuss what they thought about the meat they just judged so that they may learn from each other. This does not replace collecting contest rep signatures if you’re working towards your MCBJ or 100+ contests judged pin. Records only go back so far! It’s not a mistake if your contests from 2010 aren’t there. If you have any problems or notice any irregularities, please click at the bottom of your Judge Scorecard and describe the issue. Any issue will be re-solved outside of the KCBS office. The e-mail address is judgescorecard@kcbs.us. Please do not call the office! Do let us know whether you think this information is useful to you as a CBJ.
